QARI’s social justice projects aim to create change through a cross-cultural approach to educating members of all ages and backgrounds about social issues. Oftentimes, immigrants and/or non-native English speakers are left out of conversations about equity and justice in America. When these groups are given the tools, resources, and vocabulary to speak their truth, QARI believes their experiences foster intersectional allyship and inspire others to share their stories.

Whistle Against AAPI Hate
The Whistle Against AAPI Hate Campaign aims to provide AAPI seniors with a metal whistle on a lanyard as a simple, immediate and loud tool to help attract attention when they’re harassed, attacked, injured or observing one of those acts as a bystander.
Whistles serve as both a tangible and symbolic tool to support elders and reaffirm that the community is listening and standing together against hate.
Community Engagement
QARI offers our resources and support to the Asian community to ensure everyone has a voice during this difficult time. We have engaged in several forums and town halls to offer opportunities to grieve collectively and share our all-too-common stories openly. QARI works alongside partners throughout Massachusetts and New York City and invite you to remain engaged in upcoming events to support our community and stand against anti-Asian violence and racism in all forms.

Social Justice Education
Through education and outreach activities, QARI is integrating social justice and education across our programs and across generations. Our programs provide opportunities for youth to lead the conversation with their community leaders, while also sparking discussions in English classes to strengthen learning. Aligned with our slogan of amplifying AAPI heritage, history and culture, our work in social impact and empowerment does not have an age limit and is part of lifelong learning.
