ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Clean Energy Workforce Development Program will provide community members in Massachusetts with up to $8,500 in program scholarships to complete HVAC&R or Practical Electricity training courses at FC Tech's Boston campus.

Why Choose Benjamin Franklin Cummings Institute of Technology?

Benjamin Franklin Cummings Institute of Technology is a non-profit institution and one of the most affordable private colleges in Massachusetts. The college has established close partnerships with leading companies, providing students with abundant employment and internship opportunities. Last year, over 60 different companies with multiple job vacancies from each company were available to the college's 200+ recent graduates during campus recruitment, resulting in a very high acceptance rate. 84% of students are engaged in full-time employment or further education in their field within one year of graduation. The college's graduates are highly competitive, with the vast majority successfully employed after graduation.

Financial Aid and Fee Explanation:

While attending our HVAC&R or Practical Electricity courses, you may be eligible for various financial aid options, including federal Pell Grants (maximum $7,395), Massachusetts FAFSA Grants (about $2,000), and MassCEC Fair Employment Training Program Scholarships (up to $8,500 for full-time, up to $3,500 for part-time). The specific amounts of these scholarships depend on your qualifications and application status.

Currently, the tuition and some additional fees to consider include:

  • Practical Electricity tuition: $18,306 per year
  • HVAC&R and Refrigeration Technology tuition: $17,080
  • HVAC&R and Refrigeration Technology Tools Fee: $1,400
  • Practical Electricity Tools Fee: $650
  • Technology Fee: $600 per year ($300 per semester)
  • Textbook Fee: Average of approximately $710 per semester, varies by program
  • Health Insurance Fee (optional):

    Fall Semester: $2,805 per year
    Spring Semester: $1,717 per year

Please note that if you already have your own health insurance, you can waive this fee before the start of the semester. Additionally, you will need to consider other personal expenses and living costs.

Although the specific amounts of financial aid cannot be determined in advance, we hope that you can have a rough idea of the amount you may need to pay out of pocket based on the above fees and the various financial aid you may be eligible for. We encourage you to take action early when applying for financial aid to ensure that you understand your funding situation in a timely manner. Especially the application deadline for Massachusetts FAFSA Grants is July 1st this year!

To better assist you in successfully applying for and obtaining funding, we have prepared detailed application steps and procedures for you. Please submit your school and FAFSA applications early and ensure that you provide the required materials and information on time.
